Baseball Recap: Berks Catholic Takes a Loss

Berks Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Fleetwood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Trey Stricker was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Stricker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Dennys Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Berks Catholic suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Fleetwood, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Berks Catholic will welcome Bethlehem Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fleetwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conrad Weiser at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
