John Curtis Christian came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the David Thibodaux Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

John Curtis Christian pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for David Thibodaux, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.
