Baseball Recap: Deltona Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deltona can now relate to. They lost 8-0 to the Edgewater Eagles on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Deltona got a good showing from Kyle Goodpaster, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Goodpaster has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Deltona's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Edgewater, their record is now 11-13-1.

Deltona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edgewater, they will take on Winter Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
