Volleyball Recap: Lone Star Falls Short of Liberty in the Playoffs

Lone Star and Liberty squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lone Star had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Redhawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rangers have suffered since September 12th.

Lone Star's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Katherine Hudson, who had 21 assists and six digs, and Kyler Birkelbach, who had nine kills and seven digs. Birkelbach is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Morgan Ferguson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 digs and five assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in August.

Lone Star's loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Liberty, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 26 of their last 27 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Lone Star nor Liberty have any future games scheduled.
