Batavia (Ill.) received a huge boost from its defense against North (St. Charles, Ill.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating North (St. Charles, Ill.), 44-7.
After taking the lead on an
Anthony Scaccia touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bulldogs led 25-0 at the half.
Batavia grew its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Micah Coffey to
Rourke Mullins.
Coffey played well for the Bulldogs in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
North's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The North Stars came in surrendering 15.3 points per game this season. North struggled against Batavia's offense, which entered the game scoring 42.3 points per game. BHS came in allowing an average of 18.7 points per game this season.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Bulldogs came away with a 35-20 victory.
The loss comes after North defeated Streamwood 55-6 last week.
North (3-4) goes up against Larkin in a Upstate Eight - River game matchup next week, while Batavia (6-1) locks horns with East also in a Upstate Eight - River game.
