Baseball Recap: Thornridge Takes a Loss

Thornridge extended their losing streak to 18 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-19 in the process. They lost 17-0 to the Crete-Monee Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat on Monday.

As for Crete-Monee, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-11. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 18 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Crete-Monee's part, Bren Milburn was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Milburn has posted over his last 13 contests. Another player making a difference was Caden Wiley, who went 1-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornridge will challenge Payton College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crete-Monee, they will venture away from home to face off against Shepard at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
