Basketball Game Preview: Buena Bulldogs vs. Oxnard Yellowjackets

Buena hasn't had much luck against Oxnard recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Buena Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Oxnard Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m.

Buena is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They took a 62-44 bruising from Dos Pueblos.

Meanwhile, Oxnard had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 69-44 margin over the Pioneers. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Oxnard's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Buena, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Buena suffered a grim 73-51 defeat to Oxnard in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Buena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
