Soccer Game Preview: Cuthbertson vs. Lake Norman

The Cuthbertson Cavaliers will face off against the Lake Norman Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Cuthbertson is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Ballantyne Ridge on Tuesday as Cuthbertson made off with a 5-2 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-1.

Meanwhile, Lake Norman had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three last Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 9-0 shutout. The Wildcats' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Lake Norman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Cuthbertson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Everything went Cuthbertson's way against Lake Norman when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Cuthbertson made off with a 3-0 win. Does Cuthbertson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Norman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
