Junction City/St. Xavier scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Manhattan, 34-33. At the time, the Indians were ranked 15th in the state, while the Bluejays were 39th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shawnee Heights, who took down 25th ranked Seaman, 23-16. Kyle Geiger threw for 131 yards and one touchdown and ran for 76 yards in the win.
Shawnee Heights' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thunderbirds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Geiger has thrown for 883 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Colton Kennedy has 26 catches for 283 yards. Michael Moten leads the league in rushing with 853 yards.
Junction City/St. Xavier was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Manhattan. Randall Zimmerman's team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 39 last week.
