While Midland Legacy's win against Midland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 8-6. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-0 win on Friday.

Ean Shadden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caiden Olivas, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Yomar Prado was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Midland Legacy and bumps their season record up to 20-14-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Midland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-7.

Midland Legacy and Midland will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Rebels see the field they'll take on Odessa at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Midland, their break will end when they face Permian at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th.
