Recap: Stoneman Douglas Eagles vs. Monarch Knights
The Stoneman Douglas Eagles and the Monarch Knights squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Stoneman Douglas Eagles had to settle for second. Stoneman Douglas was beaten by Monarch 40-7. Stoneman Douglas has not had much luck with Monarch recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Aj Hairston was on fire for Monarch: he threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Samari Reed did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 194 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Stoneman Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Monarch, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Stoneman Douglas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Monarch will look to defend their home field on November 17th against Santaluces at 7:30 p.m.
