Basketball Recap: Eastern Gets the Win

Eastern hadn't done well against Clarksville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Eastern Musketeers had just enough and edged the Clarksville Generals out 82-79. For the Musketeers, this counts as revenge for the 56-36 victory the Generals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Clarksville still got an impressive performance from Ray McClendon, who went 18 for 31 on his way to 48 points in addition to six boards and three steals. With that strong performance, McClendon is now averaging an impressive 18.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Lee, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Eastern and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Clarksville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Eastern and Borden will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarksville, they will head out to face off against Trinity Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Trinity Lutheran and three for Clarksville.
