Baseball Recap: Watauga's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Watauga came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Proctor Raiders. That's two games straight that the Pioneers have won by just one run.

Luke Rothrock looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Watauga got a massive performance out of Maddox Greene, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits Greene has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cade Keller, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Watauga hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Proctor struck out six times.

Watauga now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Proctor, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Watauga will face off against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Proctor, they will square off against Austintown-Fitch at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
