Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Lynch Friars vs. Prestonwood Christian Lions

The Bishop Lynch Friars will head out to take on the Prestonwood Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Lynch's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Prestonwood Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Bishop Lynch's victory against Legacy Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Bishop Lynch won by a run and slipped past Legacy Christian Academy 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Friars have posted against the Eagles since February 17, 2017.

Meanwhile, Prestonwood Christian waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Cardinals 8-0. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Prestonwood Christian got a great performance from Landon Murphy as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Murphy has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Max Bachmann was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Junior Kniffen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bishop Lynch is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. Prestonwood Christian pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
