            Baseball Recap: Immaculate Mustangs vs. Newtown Nighthawks        
        
		
        
        
            Immaculate managed to slip by Newtown the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against  the Nighthawks on Friday, falling  12-1. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nighthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Immaculate saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Desmond Bremner, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  RBI.
Immaculate has also been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record  this season. As for Newtown, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6.
 Immaculate and Newtown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 86th) will meet Norwich Free Academy (ranked 32nd)  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile,  Newtown will  take on  Brookfield  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday with a big rank  disadvantage  (46 vs. 6).
