Baseball Recap: River Dell Comes Up Short

River Dell fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Westwood on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Golden Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

David Nunez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

River Dell has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Westwood, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Coming up, River Dell will take on Fort Lee at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Westwood, they will face off against Cliffside Park at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
