The Paso Robles Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Garces Memorial Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Paso Robles can't be to happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They took a blow against Kingsburg, falling 45-6. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Garces Memorial couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 42-21 to Paraclete on Friday. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Despite their loss, Garces Memorial saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jesse Rivas, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Rivas' longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards.
Garces Memorial wouldn't let Paraclete keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Luke Tobias, Daniel Newsome, and Jack Froehlich picked up one apiece.
