Baseball Recap: Tallmadge Blue Devils vs. Canfield Cardinals

Tallmadge extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-9 in the process. They came up short against the Canfield Cardinals, falling 7-0. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

As for Canfield, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

For Canfield's part, not much got past Joey Gabriel, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Tallmadge off the board.

At the plate, Dylan Mancini was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Groner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Tallmadge will welcome Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Canfield, they will face off against West Branch at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
