Basketball Game Preview: Central Tigers vs. Conway Wampus Cats

The Central Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Conway Wampus Cats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central took on Cabot on Friday. Central took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-23 victory over Cabot. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Panthers are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Conway waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 20 straight wins... but they left with 21. They blew past the Panthers 65-29.

Conway pushed their record up to 27-1 with the win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Central came up short against Conway in their previous matchup back in January, falling 69-59. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
