Dayton came up big in Rainier's 11-7 win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Gardner Dayton stepped things up a notch to give Rainier the 'W'. Morton/White Pass had no answer to Dayton as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk).
Dayton and Rainier will head out on the road to challenge Kalama at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Rainier has not beaten Kalama recently, having gone 0-10 since March of 2017.
