Softball Preview: Glasgow Scotties vs. Adair County Indians

The Glasgow Scotties will venture away from home to take on the Adair County Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Glasgow came up short against Somerset and fell 5-2. The Scotties haven't had much luck with the Briar Jumpers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Glasgow saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakylie Green, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Micah Muhlenkamp also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Adair County hadn't done well against Russell County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Indians blew past the Lakers 12-4. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Keylin Bergin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 11 hits. Bergin was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Reese Bardin was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ashley Loy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Adair County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

Adair County's record now sits at 4-2. As for Glasgow, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Glasgow came out on top in a nail-biter against Adair County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4.
