Football Game Preview: North Charleston Cougars vs. Battery Creek Dolphins

For the first time this season, North Charleston will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Battery Creek Dolphins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Charleston is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, North Charleston strolled past Stall with points to spare, taking the game 42-26.

CJ Furby was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 220 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

North Charleston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Charleston's defense and their three sacks. Cedric Burkes was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Burkes is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Battery Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down Whale Branch 28-14 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Battery Creek's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for North Charleston, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
