Baseball Recap: Munford Victorious

On Monday, the Munford Cougars beat the Jackson North Side Indians 11-6.

Brodie Fortner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Munford let Noah Lowry and Curly Lowry run wild. Noah scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Curly scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Noah also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Munford's victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Munford Cougars duke it out with Ripley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jackson North Side, they will take on Brighton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
