Football Recap: Isaiah Mizcles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clint over Gadsden

It was a proper cat-fight when Clint challenged Gadsden on Friday. The Lions lost to the Panthers at home by a 36-21 margin. The Lions have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Mizcles, who rushed for 131 yards on only 15 carries.

Gadsden's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from ANTHONY PALOMARES, who picked up 226 receiving yards and five scores. The team also got some help courtesy of ETHAN MORALES, who threw for 232 yards and five TDs on only 12 passes.

Clint's record now sits at 0-2. As for Gadsden, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Clint and Gadsden will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lions will take on rival Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gadsden is set to challenge their familiar foe Mayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
