Volleyball Recap: Hillgrove Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hillgrove had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 13-17 to make it seven. They came up short against the Mount Paran Christian Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Mount Paran Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 10th (when they won 3-0).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Paran Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Kohler, who had six digs and five aces. The dominant performance also gave Kohler a new career-high in assists (34). Another player making a difference was Kelsie Moran, who had 15 digs and two aces.

After both having extra time off, Hillgrove and Cherokee will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Mount Paran Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against King's Ridge Christian on the 23rd.
