Recap: Stanberry Bulldogs vs. Rock Port Blue Jays
The Stanberry Bulldogs were the 48-32 winner over the Rock Port Blue Jays when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Stanberry had to suffer through a rough 57-19 loss at the hands of Rock Port. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stanberry has scored all season.
Rock Port found their leader in underclassman Jack Meyerkorth, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Meyerkorth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Bannack Skillen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Stanberry's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Rock Port, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Stanberry will be playing in front of their home fans against Winston at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rock Port, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
