Softball Recap: Geneva Has No Trouble Against Conneaut

Geneva's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Conneaut Spartans 11-4. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Annabelle Bragg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Claire Cafaro was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Savannah Burton was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Geneva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Geneva's record now sits at 7-8. As for Conneaut, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Geneva will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeside at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Conneaut, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson Area at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
