Mt. Vernon proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by five) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Delta Eagles. The win was familiar territory for Mt. Vernon, who have now won four matches in a row.

Charlie Cole was the driving force of Mt. Vernon's attack as he scored both of Mt. Vernon's goals, bringing his season total up to 17 goals.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Delta, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Fishers on the 28th. As for Delta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Jay County on the 28th.
