Volleyball Recap: Gulfport Has No Trouble Against Northwest Rankin

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gulfport had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Northwest Rankin Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Admirals also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Gulfport never let Northwest Rankin on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.

Sydney Allen went supernova, getting 17 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game.

Northwest Rankin's loss came despite strong showings from Sophie Tatum and Sadie Tatum. Sophie had six digs and two aces, while Sadie had eight digs and one assist.

Gulfport has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-14 record this season. As for Northwest Rankin, they dropped their record down to 15-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Gulfport has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Brandon on the 9th. Northwest Rankin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
