Preview: Bluff Dale Bobcats vs. Gordon Longhorns
Bluff Dale is 0-7 against Gordon since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bluff Dale Bobcats' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Gordon Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Bluff Dale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1393rd, while Gordon is ranked 418th).
Bluff Dale suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Gorman 77-7. Bluff Dale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-5.
Allie Morris was Bluff Dale's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Erin Clary held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gordon entered their tilt with Huckabay with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Gordon blew past Huckabay 47-26. Gordon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.
Bluff Dale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Gordon, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.
Bluff Dale was dealt a bruising 74-5 defeat at the hands of Gordon when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bluff Dale was down 40-3.
