Baseball Game Preview: Chatfield Chargers vs. Ralston Valley Mustangs

The Chatfield Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Ralston Valley Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chatfield has six straight wins, Ralston Valley has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Chatfield had just enough and edged out Ralston Valley 4-3. That's two games straight that the Chargers have won by just one run.

Riley Suddath tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brody Logan, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

Chatfield lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Chatfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Ralston Valley, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
