Football Game Preview: Skyline Titans vs. Irvington Vikings

The Skyline Titans will head out to take on the Irvington Vikings at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Skyline has now lost 12 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 6th.

Skyline is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 44 points on September 6th, they were much more limited against Del Norte last Friday. They were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 42-6.

Meanwhile, Irvington's game on Saturday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over Concord. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Vikings were down 42-28 in the third quarter.

Irvington's win came from a few key players Skyline will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Vivaan Tiwari, who threw for 303 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Gabrial Aruwah was Tiwari's top target, picking up 131 receiving yards and three TDs.

Irvington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Skyline was taken down by Irvington 46-7 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Titans, Matthew Forbes (who rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
