League recap: Windermere Prep's Kane delivers best pitching performance from past week

3A District 5 league recap: 3/20/13

Windermere Prep's Andrew Kane was the best pitcher in 3A District 5 this week. He racked up 16 strike outs this week.

Jason Cryar was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .538 average with eight RBIs. Meanwhile, Orangewood Christian put together a 3-0 week.

Mount Dora Bible's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing eight hits and one walk to lead the league in both categories.

The Rams stole 14 bases this week, adding to their league-leading 67 steals on the year.

Five batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Mark Kolozsvary, who collected two hits in three at bats for a .667 average.



Cryar's eight RBIs this week put him at the number one spot for the league. For the year, he has racked up 16 RBIs, good for first in the league.

Kane drove in four runners as the Lakers defeated Cornerstone Charter Academy 7-5 on Friday. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
