Volleyball Recap: Lancaster Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Lancaster had won seven straight home games and Addison George did her part to make it eight on Thursday. The Red Devils walked away with a 3-1 win over the Westmoreland Eagles with plenty of help from George, who had 30 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Lancaster had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-7, 25-20.

Defeat or not, Westmoreland got some senior leadership from Morgan Gooch and Laney Worzalla. Gooch had seven digs and two aces, while Worzalla had 12 digs and four aces.

Lancaster's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Westmoreland, they moved to 12-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Lancaster will venture away from home to take on King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westmoreland, they will head out to challenge Northumberland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
