Football Game Preview: Madison West Regents vs. Verona Wildcats

Madison West hasn't had much luck against Verona recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Regents will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Madison West will be strutting in after a victory while Verona will be coming in after a loss.

Madison West barely beat Madison La Follette the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Regents were the clear victors by a 33-7 margin over the Lancers on Friday. The Regents haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Verona challenged Middleton on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 23-14 to the Cardinals.

Verona's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Madison West, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Madison West came up short against Verona in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 7-0. Can the Regents avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
