Volleyball Recap: Pace Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

There's no place like home for Pace, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Harlingen South Hawks on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Pace never let Harlingen South on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.

Leading Pace to victory were Andrea Salgado and Megan Mares. Salgado had 22 digs and two assists, while Mares had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Mares has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Pace was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harlingen South only served five aces.

Harlingen South's loss came despite strong showings from Genesis Martinez and Lauren Lopez. Martinez had 13 digs and one assist, while Lopez had six digs and one assist. Aralynn Tobias also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Pace has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Harlingen South, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Pace didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against West Oso on the 29th. As for Harlingen South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 25-12 defeat against Veterans Memorial on the 29th.
