Smithville had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Winnetonka Griffins. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Smithville was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-12, 25-12.

Leading Smithville to victory were Lexie Seifert and Cali Zorda. Seifert had four aces and three digs, while Zorda had four aces. Those four aces gave Zorda a new career-high. Heidi Cochran also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Smithville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Smithville's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Winnetonka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11-2 record this season.

Smithville has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Raytown South on the 9th. As for Winnetonka, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Excelsior Springs on the 9th.
