Volleyball Recap: Hazel Schellpeper and Rylan Hansen Secure Win for Stanton

Stanton barely beat Lutheran-Northeast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 3-0 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Stanton got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 31-29, 25-17, 25-13.

Leading Stanton to victory were Rylan Hansen and Hazel Schellpeper. Hansen had 12 digs and two aces, while Schellpeper had six digs. Hansen has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Stanton's record is now 19-6. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Coincidentally, Stanton and Lutheran-Northeast will both be playing Humphrey-Lindsay the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Bulldogs on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
