Baseball Recap: Lowellville Beats Heartland Christian for Their Fourth Straight Win

Lowellville came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Heartland Christian Lions with a sharp 14-3 win. That's more bragging rights for the Rockets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Liam Bartlett made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Bartlett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Lowellville is undefeated when Bartlett posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Geno Perry was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zak Sargent, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Lowellville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lowellville pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Heartland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowellville will challenge Mathews at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heartland Christian, they will face off against LaBrae at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
