Volleyball Recap: Norton Starts off Right with Win over Ravenna

Norton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Ravenna Ravens 3-0. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ravens, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Norton was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-7, 25-9.

Haley Sanderson was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 15 digs and three aces. Those 15 digs gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Norton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Ravenna still got an impressive performance from Kasey Sterba, who had ten digs.

Ravenna's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Norton has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Manchester on the 23rd. As for Ravenna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Woodridge on the 26th.
