Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lila Mehring and Hayley Shamblin Lead Pamlico County to Victory + How To Watch

Pamlico County won the last time they faced Martin County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hurricanes walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Gators. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hurricanes.

Pamlico County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-21, 25-17, 28-26.

Leading Pamlico County to victory were Hayley Shamblin and Lila Mehring. Shamblin had 17 digs and four aces, while Mehring had nine assists and six digs. Those 17 digs gave Shamblin a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Pamlico County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive games.

Pamlico County's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Martin County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Coming up, Pamlico County will be playing at home against Bear Grass Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Martin County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Gates County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
