Basketball Recap: Jace Litten's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Churchill over North Eugene

Churchill was the 61-60 winner over North Eugene when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Churchill Lancers fell 63-56 to the North Eugene Highlanders on Tuesday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Churchill lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jace Litten, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Litten has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Dexter, who went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points and eight boards.

North Eugene's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Gray, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Harris, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points and five assists.

Churchill's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-7. As for North Eugene, their record now sits at 9-7.

Churchill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-44 victory against Crater on the 24th. North Eugene has also already played their next game, a 64-58 win against Eagle Point on the 24th.
