Softball Recap: Killingly Has No Trouble Against Putnam

Killingly never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Putnam Clippers with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Redmen have won five contests by more than 13 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Killingly is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Putnam, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Killingly will welcome Ledyard at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Colonels will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Redmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Putnam, they will be playing at home against Norwich RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
