Baseball Recap: Humboldt Vikings vs. Middleton Tigers
Humboldt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-5 to the Middleton Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-3 on Monday.
Kameron Justicee and Kavein Taylor stepped up to the plate in a big way. Justicee scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Taylor scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. That run was Justicee's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Humboldt's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Middleton, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humboldt will host Sheffield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
