Baseball Game Preview: Mundelein Mustangs vs. Loyola Academy Ramblers

The Mundelein Mustangs will head out to challenge the Loyola Academy Ramblers at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Mundelein is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Mundelein's last matchup with Lake Forest could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 14-4 to the Scouts. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Mustangs, who until this game were averaging 3.61 runs allowed.

Mundelein saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Sanderson, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Loyola Academy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fenwick on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Ramblers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mundelein's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-8-2. As for Loyola Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-20.
