Recap: Marion Eagles vs. Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs
After flying high against the Baldwin Panthers on Monday, the Marion Eagles came back down to earth. Marion took a hard 38-21 fall against the Mustangs on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Marion has scored all season.
Grand Traverse Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Bell, who scored 16 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Bell scored 15 or more points. Megan Pavwoski was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Marion's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion will square off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Walkerville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Mary comes in on seven and the Mustangs on three.
