Basketball Recap: Delta Rabbits vs. Juab Wasps
There's no place like home for the Delta Rabbits, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Juab out 56-53. For Delta, this counts as revenge for the 46-43 defeat the Wasps walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
It was another big night for Cai Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Delta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronco Bundy, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Juab lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Austin Park. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with two steals. Park hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Kanyon Mattinson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Juab struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Delta's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Juab, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delta will take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Juab, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Richfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
