Softball Game Preview: Glenn Grizzlies vs. Cedar Park Timberwolves

Glenn has gone 9-1 against Cedar Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Grizzlies will venture away from home to take on the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Glenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Glenn after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Hays by a score of 4-2. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maddy Butler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fuego Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Bella Loredo Awmiller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Park). They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Lockhart on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Timberwolves.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-13. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Glenn was able to grind out a solid win over Cedar Park in their previous meeting back in March, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
