Preview: Mangum Tigers vs. Carnegie Wildcats
The Mangum Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Carnegie Wildcats at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. Mangum will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Mangum can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Cordell, posting a 76-6 victory at home.
It was another big night for Austin Solis, who rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Krae Manney and his 112 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Mangum's victory.
Meanwhile, Carnegie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 14-8 to Empire. Carnegie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mangum's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.33 points. As for Carnegie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Mangum beat Carnegie 21-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mangum since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
