Basketball Recap: Southern Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Julia Hahn and Huntyr Marks

Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Meade Mustangs. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Huntyr Marks and Julia Hahn certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Marks posted 16 points, while Hahn had three points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Hahn a new career-high in assists (three).

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Meade, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Southern has already played their next matchup (against Crofton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Meade will square off against Annapolis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Annapolis comes in on ten and Meade on four.
